Al Kholood is set to make history this Roshn Saudi League season as they join the roster of clubs that have competed in the Saudi Pro League era.
After finishing third in the First Division League last season, they become the second club from the city of Ar Rass, with a population of 120,000, to participate in the RSL. Unfortunately, they will miss out on a local derby since Al Hazem was relegated at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
We now have confirmation of the three clubs joining us next season! Congratulations to Al Qadsiah, Al Orobah, and Al Kholood! #yallaRSL pic.twitter.com/4ImX6V5Ojq

Al Okhdood — 2023-24
As Al Kholood becomes the latest club to join the SPL fraternity, one of the most recent newcomers was Al Okhdood, who competed in the RSL for the first time last season.
Like many newly promoted clubs, they faced challenges at the top level. The Najran-based team won only one of their first nine matches, which put them at a disadvantage from the start. Nonetheless, they experienced some high moments throughout the season, ultimately ensuring their survival.
Three wins and a draw from their final five games before the mid-season break helped Al Okhdood rise above the relegation zone. A shocking 3-2 victory against Jeddah giants Al Ahli after the break continued their positive momentum, although they soon encountered a rough patch with eight consecutive matches without a win.
After going through two managers, a victory on the final day against Al Tai allowed Al Okhdood to narrowly avoid relegation by a single point. They return this season for another campaign in the top tier, with their inaugural season remembered for the remarkable run led by Algerian coach Noureddine Benzekri.
